Re: 929 gearing question?

try not to gear the front because thats where you lose the highway speed, try to just do the back, I did like 12 in the back so I could do real slow **** and still had plenty of speed for the freeway....if you want to do slow stunts youll regret only a 5 up

Um...I don't think so.It doesn't matter if you gear the front or the back the bike is going to lose top end either way.The bike with a -1+5 gearing would still have more top speed than yours with the +12.

Well, I just picked up the bike today. It has stock gearing. I ran -1+12 on my 01 zx6r and that was cool, My gixxer 1k has stock gearing so i can kill the highway's on that. I cant make up my fuggin mind on what gearing to go with?? Im thinking either 14,48(-2+5) or 15,55(-1+12). I still want to be able to get on the highway, but I have a bike for that already. This is going to be my lot bike. Learning circles, coasters and ****. Somebody help me quick!

Re: 929 gearing question?

You could go with the +12 and it would still be streetable, then if you decide you need more you could always put a -1 on the front.+12 is enough anyway.
