rear end shake when launching wheelie

im having a new problem thats got me stumped. my bike just started doing a little shimmy on the way up to bp once there it feels normal. my chain will not stay tight long, like two three wheelies.this crap just started a few days ago. i put it up on a stand and tried to move the swing arm and the rim side to side but it felt normal. this is happening at all speeds 10-90mph when you load the rear wheel and begin to lift the front.i have spockets and a 520 chain and have been running this set up for two months or so with no trouble.rear tire is almost new also with about 20 to 25 psi. anybody got any ideas?wheel bearing, swingarm? i know its in the rear...anyone had this problem?

Re: rear end shake when launching wheelie

im thinking rider too much tire pressure that causes the rear end to wobble at a higher speed

grease your axle... make sure the adjusters are even and check the bearings

Re: rear end shake when launching wheelie

could be the bushings (spelling?). they are the rubber pieces that are on the inside of the sprocket. they can dry rot.

i have the same problem on my 00 gix 750.

i'm no rocket scientist though.

Take the wheel off, and take the sprocket carrier off the wheel. There is supposed to be a spacer between the sprocket carrier and the wheel. It sounds like whoever had the wheel off last left the spacer out. It's real easy to miss.

I've seen it happen more than once. If your bearings are bad that's what caused it. But try just putting the spacer back in. The bearings might be fine.

good call, it was missing that spacer. funny how i just had a rear tire mounted three weeks ago and now a spacer just jumped out the center of my wheel and dissapeared, it fried one of the wheel bearings and the sprocket carrier bearing. luckily i have a spare spacer from the 750 swingarm swap, i kept all the stock 600 parts and it was still attached to my factory sprocket. thanks for the help
