rear end shake when launching wheelie
rear end shake when launching wheelie
im having a new problem thats got me stumped. my bike just started doing a little shimmy on the way up to bp once there it feels normal. my chain will not stay tight long, like two three wheelies.this crap just started a few days ago. i put it up on a stand and tried to move the swing arm and the rim side to side but it felt normal. this is happening at all speeds 10-90mph when you load the rear wheel and begin to lift the front.i have spockets and a 520 chain and have been running this set up for two months or so with no trouble.rear tire is almost new also with about 20 to 25 psi. anybody got any ideas?wheel bearing, swingarm? i know its in the rear...anyone had this problem?

not sure, im about to take off the wheel today and check the inside crap. the axle nut does appear to be in a new spot on the adjuster plate, i can see the old wear mark
Re: rear end shake when launching wheelie
could be the bushings (spelling?). they are the rubber pieces that are on the inside of the sprocket. they can dry rot.
i have the same problem on my 00 gix 750.
i'm no rocket scientist though.

I've seen it happen more than once. If your bearings are bad that's what caused it. But try just putting the spacer back in. The bearings might be fine.
