a different type of question about wheelies...
i was just thinking about how everyone does circle wheelies. i was curious about which method u guys use to get the bike that high. what im really wondering about is how, and im talking about a stock geared new 600, do you guys lift up the front with the bike going so slowly. (i understand how easily a bike with -2+10 or similar gearing would do this, so thats why im only asking about a stock geared smaller bike, im talking about rider skill, and not raw tourqe here)
1. do u bring the wheel up in first, get it real high and then slow the bike down to the proper speed? or
2. do u immediately bring the wheel up from a stand still and how do u do that?
now as u can obviously tell i dont know how to do this, and am not trying to start. im just curious and like to know the in's and out's of these things because to me it makes it more interesting to know what these riders are doing when i see them stunting.

Re: a different type of question about wheelies...
buy lots of DVDs and study the video, that helps a bunch for all the questions.
not a pro, but heres my take on your q's
1. clutch up to bp instantly, then catch with brake.
Theres lots of threads on how to wheelie, tips, hints, lots of info, check the stunting advise section

Re: a different type of question about wheelies...
my grandfather told me once ..... start that wheelie going up a big hill
that is the best way i learned.. and never use the gas only always use the clutch
one more thing sitting down is the works best.
practice !!!

Re: a different type of question about wheelies...
u can clutch from a stand still on a stock bike just gotta clutch the **** out of it, i learned on stock gears with my gsxr and still play on my stock r6 sometimes
Re: a different type of question about wheelies...
yea you just have to clutch it a little harder with no gearing to get it right up at a slow speed. bringing it up a little faster then slowing it down is pretty normal these days. among pros it's pretty much a style thing.
tony D will bring it up in a hurry then coast down to a managable speed etc. I do that most of the time. varied speeds looks better imo.
