Frame Repairing

We gotta fix the frame on the f4easy. Deal is that the mounts on the front, where the front upper part of the cage bolts to, both are bent in to the motor. Shawn's got most of the work done for pulling the motor out, and I'm gonna help him finish it off. From my experience, we're gonna heat the parts of the frame up a lot, and use a hyd. ram to spread the frame out to where the bent parts are straight again, using a 2X4 to spread the pressure of the ram. This should work, and shouldn't damage the frame in anyway. Sound about right?

Re: Frame Repairing

Depends if the aluminum is stretched in anyway you'll never get it back to where it was.....If its a little bend you'll be able to get it close enough.

Re: Frame Repairing

yeah, I thought about that. I'm hoping that the aluminum didn't get too deformed.

Re: Frame Repairing

put pressure on it w/ potapower 1st and then heat up the frame gradually and hopefully you will only need a little bit of heat. Cause you will only need to heat it untill it moves, because the pressure is allready on it. hope that helps, and if you f it up take it to a welding shop and have them weld on a new brkt.
