handbreak problem

I have a gsxr 600 with stock clipons... i put my hand break on yesterday using a
gsxr front mastercylinder. I ended up having to put the hand break on top because i couldn't get anything to fit with the clutch on top. The mastercyclinder and the clutch adjustment hit each other making ot hard to get the levers even close together. Anyone have any good pics or advice for me on this. I only found a couple pics with the search and none really helped. Thanks

Re: handbreak problem

you might have to grond some of the extra junk off the bottom of the clutch perch or lever if you have stock lever and perch......mine had a 1"x1/2" peice of aluminum for the switch on the clutch....bypassed it and ground it off

.....asv lever works better now though

Re: handbreak problem

get a clutch cable that doesn't have the bend in it. I'm putting a K5 1000 cable on just to get my HB on the bottom, I'm in the same boat.

How did you by pass the switch? My bike will only start if the clutch is pulled in... even in nuetral.

those 2 wires that go into the clutch perch, pull them off and splice them together.

Re: handbreak problem

call your local bike parts store (ex. cycle gear). They usually have them for dirt bikes but they'll fit fine on sportbikes. Just watch out for the thread adjuster. Mine stripped the thread but that could have been my fault. They seem like delicate clutch assemblies, but im sure others have zero problems. Man do they'll make it easy to pull.:YEAH
