wheelie steers to the right, help please

Can't seem to figure it out, all my sit down wheelies steer to the right very hard. My marks on the swing arm are even, and its not the tire because i just put on a michelin pilot on thursday. Im not a begginer at wheelies either, just can't see why it's keeps happening, any suggestions.

check your position on how you look over the headlight. if you find yourself looking over the to the right, then you're pushing down on the right peg or the bars to raise your body up enough to see.

Re: wheelie steers to the right, help please

Im guessing the frame and all is straight too right? That could cause it. Also all my wheelies tend to pull to the left, but I find im usually putting more weight on one side or another. Also I find that all the Michelins I run pull hard one way or the other unless I get the tire pressure just right.

sometimes the factory marks on the swingarm arent correct. My 1998 900RR always did the same damn thing.

Re: wheelie steers to the right, help please

A lot of people compensate for throttle hand grip (or lack of) by stepping harder on the right peg thus making the bike go right...

Re: wheelie steers to the right, help please

I'll do like 45mph in 2nd and cluch it up so im guessing between 50 and 55, it will go straight about 3 second into the wheelie then slowly but surely it start going toward the right. Actually it's so bad that i purposly get in the far left lane to begin my wheelies and befor you can count to ten, my *** have to set it down befor i run off the road. This is really pissing me off........ oh yea somebody told me about the string method, but how does it work?????

Re: wheelie steers to the right, help please

yeah my bad...if you look over the left, then you push to the right. sorry. i had this problem when i started doin sit down wheeelies. try clutching a standup and if it goes straight then you'll know it has something to do with your position, if it wonders, then you got a problem with your alignment or your tire. also check the tire pressure, if it's real high and you barely get to the right, then the tire will stay to the right and its hard to get back to the left. keep us posted
tryin running a little less in the tire so it will try not to wonder out of the center. just my two cents

i used to have the same problem and i found that it was because i was fighting the bike. make sure u are getting it nice and high and u wont have to fight it as much and also check ur body position. try and steer the bike the other way too. try that and hopefully it helps

If you can't correct it at all, it sounds like, although you say you are not a "beginner", you definately don't have enough experience. Go practice more, your bike is fine.

Re: wheelie steers to the right, help please

i had a tire that made it pull hard to one side, felt like it was washing out. make sure you use tire lube putting it on so the two edges of the rims are not tweaked
