600rr crankcase mod...needed like f4i?
600rr crankcase mod...needed like f4i?
So does the 600rr **** oil into the airbox like the f4is do on hard drops?
I have all my **** apart now and don't know if I should do this mod like my friend did on his f4i.

never heard of that with the f4i
Re: 600rr crankcase mod...needed like f4i?
yep, it happens just not as bad as the 636's the f4i has to be practically upside down and for a few seconds. if you bike rolls up onto the control, kick it back onto 2 wheels as fast as u can. Thats how hydrolocking hapens. I put like a paper filter type plug in the hose to the front of my airbox. It keeps oil from pouring in real fast if it happens, but doesnt totally cut off the air flow
Re: 600rr crankcase mod...needed like f4i?
eh... I think I'll just risk it

So this doesnt happen often and the 600rr then? I know one hard drop from my f4i and it got oil all in the airbox...did the mod and its ok. If it isnt an issue with the 600rr then I won't waste my time.
Re: 600rr crankcase mod...needed like f4i?
like said above only time i've had a problem on the f4i hydrolocking was cause it was upside down in a ditch couldnt flip it back fast enough. never had problems just from drops the rr is probably the same.
Re: 600rr crankcase mod...needed like f4i?
its pretty common to see that here in dallas since everyone and their mom stunts an f4i. if it falls on the left side and rolls up on to the tank it fills the airbox full of oil. I dunno about the 600RR. Mine hasnt done that. I left it on its side for a little bit with no cage and it didnt do that.
Re: 600rr crankcase mod...needed like f4i?
disconnect breather tube from thew airbox coming from valve cover (on F41 and 600rr's at least, not sure about other bikes) and put a lil filter over it, i zip tied a coffee filter on the loose hose ahah :YEAH
hydro locking = no bueno ... water (in most cases) but in this case oil gets into your cylinders and doesn't quite compress as well as air haha so when the piston moves to the top of the cylinder on the comp stroke there is no where for that oil to go so sumthin has got to give ... usually rods, wrist pins, bearings, etc ...
