Should i turn up the idle?

i am at the point where im bringing the bike into the balnce point zone and find that i use the brake but also the throttle to back off when i get too high and then i just go down too low and let it come back down. i was wondering if turnin up the throttle will help steady it so that im not choppin the thottle as much and help it stay up. Oh and i forgot im trying to do slow wheelies in a parking lot.

Re: Should i turn up the idle?

if you go with turning up the idle you will get some smoothness and probably things will be little more steady, but the fact is that you will just backstab yourself with that. My advice is to smooth the throttle action first, w/out the idle, cuz if you go with idle you will have hard time without it. When you learn w/out it and go for idle wheelies it will be much easier to catch the idle. But it's your choice...

Re: Should i turn up the idle?

i've got my slow standups down like a champ
and now i'm working on my slow sitdowns
i noticed that i can go so freakin slow that i get greedy and stall and rattrap.
so if i turn my idle up just a little bit, 2500 nuetral, 2000 operating, it helped me not to stall out anymore, and then i was like whoa, i got to the point where i was completely off the throttle and the idle was just carrying me.
anybody got any advice for scrapes? my bar is shorter than most so i have to bring the bike very vertical and be hard on the brake to set the bar down smoothly....i can tap the bar real quick, but if i want to go for a long *** scrape will it be bad to pull the clutch in and just cruise ?

Re: Should i turn up the idle?

once you get past the balance point, pull the clutch, ease off the brake, and scrape till your blue in the face!! Practice practice practice
