Re: Invincible Gixxer...

yeah, Jeff is a great guy. you got bad info.

you're never gonna make the gixxer a tank, it is what it is. want a tank? get a honda. I'm not bashing because I love my little gixxer.

an indestructible gixxer is like perpetual motion........doesn't exist and never will.....haha

you can help the gizzer out though......oil pickup, cage, bar, reinforce the subframe, and have plenty of spare parts laying around anyways.......rearsets, pegs, clip-ons, levers...standard stuff that would break on any bike really

someone told you wrong. take off the left side plastics, exhaust, and header. remove the oil pan, change the pickup. reassemble and don't forget the oil!

Re: Invincible Gixxer...

you just take off the old one and replace it with the new one. just get the stuntex piece, best 60 or so bucks you can spend.

and there's only one header....

Re: Invincible Gixxer...

shouldn't be, you're probably gonna end up moving the radiator a little bit. I took mine off and swapped the fluid to water w/ WAter Wetter in it. it's a pretty basic job if you're a decent mechanic.

Re: Invincible Gixxer...

nope, I'm at work. it's really not that hard man. take it apart, put it back together. maybe 20 bolts and screws total (not counting the fairings)

Re: Invincible Gixxer...

i thought the guys at Powers were real helpful and seemed pretty professional to me despite what others have said about them in the past. On the other had, my buddy got his cage from MXD and said they had pretty good customer service too but it took em a little longer to get the items to him. Both delivered great products in the end so it doesn't look like you can go wrong here ...
