Anyone know of some good sites to buy .22Lr ammo?

 

after shipping.....I would just buy at WalMart!

I looked at ALOT of online ammo places and once you pay for shipping and dont pay for taxes it works out in your favor to buy Federal bulk packs at WalMart or even the CCI blazer stuff or whatever at gun shops. It doesnt become beneficial to buy online unless you cant find ANY ammo locally, you plan to buy 5-10,000 rounds at a time, or you are looking for something out of the norm...like Wolf Match .22 ammo (I do order that online)

 

Not sure what you are shooting but if you want the hottness buy Remmington yellow jackets HP's of course nastiest 22 LR I have seen

 

they're along the same lines as CCI's higher end stuff, Winchester's higher end HP ammo, and all that.....good stuff, not the best, but at about $6-7 per 100 rd. box, its definitely not TOO overpriced.

My favorite ammo right now when it comes to price, accuracy, and so on...is Federal's 550 round bulk packs. They go for around $15 at WalMart here. They are NOT the BLUE CHAMPION .22 ammo sold at Cabella's but instead a dark red package and has 550 rounds vs. 525 rounds in the champion stuff. Its as accurate as the CCI and other stuff like the Remington CopperHead snake ammo and Yellow Jacket ammo, but alot cheaper.

If you can find the dark red Federal packs, I would load up on that stuff....I have ALOT of it, in the 8-10,000 round range. I DO also have about 500 rounds of the yellow jacket and its good stuff, 1200 or so rounds of the higher end CCI stuff, and even 2000 rounds of Remington Golden bullet ammo (CRAP BTW!).

The MOST ACCURATE .22 ammo I have is the Wolf MATCH or ELY Match ammo......but the price reflects it...ALOT!

All the walmarts around here are out of stock of everything... i jsut bought a 10/22 and all they had was a 100 box on winchester. Im looking to get around 1000 rounds stocked up but everywehere online seems to be sold out too

Federal is my favorite plinking ammo.....just not their "Champion" line....that stuff is crap along with the cheaper Winchester (not the 100rd packs like you bought).

Keep checking your walmart, and if you have any small town ones within 30-40 min. check them too. My small town walmart is always out as well...but they DO get .22 in often and when they do I'm sometimes guilty of buying the entire shelf! lol The bigger area walmarts know me and limit me to 2 boxes now....but my local one sold me 10 boxes of Federal 550 rd, and 2 boxes of Blazer .45 in the same transaction.....guy behind me was PISSED! lol Too little too late!

Check DansAmmo.com out.....theyt have some Fiochhi 40gr. 1000rd cases for sale for $59.99.......expensive, but Fiochhi is usually great ammo.....at least has been in my AR and Benelli 12ga.!

 

thanks, ill look into walmart...I just heardfederal cycles well in 10/22's and dont wanna put out $70 and get 1000rounds that dont cycle well and jam constantly haha

ya...that does kinda suck.

I shoot the Wolf Match ammo and hold my hand over the bolt to make my 10/22 like a bolt action.....you can REALLY make ur 10/22 accurate with that stuff!

My 10/22 eats Federal bulk pack all day long....I bought some Federal AutoMatch and compared it to the bulk pack. No difference.
