Santa Pod Stunt Night (Vid)

http://vimeo.com/3389246

Solving the perennial problem of how to entertain the family during the half-term break, Santa Pod Raceway's Stunt Night' on Friday the 20th of February, seemed to provide all of the answers in an action-packed spectacle of an evening.

The world-renowned venue had managed to pack the cream of automotive stunt performers into a night of literally non-stop stunt entertainment. Acts from across the country were gathered together to provide the family crowd with an unbelievable schedule of action, danger and skill.
Leading the action were the considerable talents of the UK's best street motorcycle stunt riders. Gunning powerful sports bikes into wheelies, power slides and huge plumes of tyre smoke. Hot on their heels were four of the countries most talented drifters', who are able to drive their highly-tuned sports cars sideways and within just a few inches of each other, whilst conducting highly choreographed performance driving routines.
As the evening cooled, guests didn't need to worry about getting cold with two jet-powered, road legal vehicles, skilfully driven by Rocket Ronnie' Picardo, a classic VW Beetle and huge GMC truck amazed the crowd by both being propelled by Rolls Royce engines from two Jet-fighters! The noise and afterburner flame had to be seen to be believed.

Before the crowd even had time to recover, they were treated to the talents of multiple World record holding TV and movie stunt driver, Terry Grant. Performing a dizzying array of tricks, even at one point driving two cars at once (yes really!). Grant finished his act driving a Herbie' replica on two wheels. One that went down extremely well with the family orientated audience.
Bike fans were also impressed with the superb control of Jason Smythe, who won the crowd over with a series of slick high-speed jumps over a considerable height and distance, on both a bike and a quad. A feat made considerably more dangerous by the evening's low light levels.

The fitting finale came from Podzilla', Santa Pod's very own Monster truck. Pleasing kids of all ages, Podzilla laid waste to an entire row of scrap cars whilst guzzling an incredible 30 gallons of race fuel per mile!
As the stunt action came to and end, a spectacular firework display started, leaving the sated crowd to enjoy the funfair and other attractions until the late evening. stuntnight.co.uk stuntnight.co.uk stuntnight.co.uk stuntnight.co.uk
