will this be the best stoppie bike ????

check this out:or go to http://www.emtes.se/news.htmLatest news
Emtes has finally finnished building its project bike based on a -99 Yamaha R6. The result is a turbocharged, AWD streetfighter, with the best brake and suspension components on the market. The bike has been tested and proven on Gelleråsen racetrack...

News

Yamaha R6 Turbo AWD

The engine has been totally rebuilt with steel sleeved cylinders bored to 620 cc. The low compression pistons from Wiseco are connected to the crank with billet rods from Crower. The cylinder head has been ported and the combustion chambers modified.
A stainless steel header has been designed to fit a MIT TD04HL turbo close to the engine. Both ignition and fuel injection is managed by a Haltech ECU. The charge air cooling consists of two water cooled Laminova cores fitted in the intake manifold.
The brake components are manufactured by ISR brakes and the suspension components are made by Öhlins.
The bike has been fitted with a hydraulic 2-wheel drive system developed by Öhlins and proven in Paris-Dakar.
The result is a unique motorcycle, with exellent handling and performance...

Turbo installation
The Yamaha R6 is a very compact bike whit a short wheelbase. The space where to fit a turbocharger is therefore limited. A packaging study in 3D-CAD was used to design the exhaust manifold...

AWD pump transmission
The hydraulic pump for the front wheel drive is connected to the output shaft by a chain transmission. The space available was extremely tight, since the pump itself is placed beneath the fuel tank and within the frame.

Manufacturing
The final design for the pump drive was constructed in 6063-T6 aluminium according to the packaging study and it all fitted the bike perfectly with some tenths of millimeters to spare.

The hydraulic motor
The hydraulic motor is fitted in the front wheel hub and is connected to the wheel by a gear transmission. The maximum torque transfer is 162 Nm and the maximum power is limited to 25 kW at the front wheel.

All put together...

...the result is a unique motorcycle, with exellent handling and performance!

Re: will this be the best stoppie bike ????

sick creation, I heard about the AWD a couple years ago, it was tested on a Yamaha at the Dakar Rallye, it´s cool to see it made it into a streetbike now.

a small company actually made this work on a motocross bike over 10 years ago... but i would have been illegal for competition so it never caught on...

wonder what a 2WD street/track killer would be like?

Re: will this be the best stoppie bike ????

technically yeah you could roll out long stoppies, it would be really weird to get used to being comfortable being past bp on a stoppie. and it will require a huge set of *****!!!

yeah it would be the opposite of rolling a wheelie on idle...

when you are about to loop you have to give it gas, and when you are coming down you would need to use more brake... hahaha

It says the front power is restricted though, so i dunno how much it would actually be able to save you from going over.

Probably work better at slow speed.

Re: will this be the best stoppie bike ????

read about this before i think the basic idear is for handling more than anything. The front wheel as i read at first was powered by a hydraulic motor fed from a drive from side of engine and when the rear wheel lost grip started to turn faster i.e wheel spin drift etc the front would be spinning faster and therefore drag you out of trouble it does sound good and i would love to have a ride on one thing is if you did get it up on the front and wanted to roll on with out the clutch in you would have to make minor throttle adjustments which i think would be bloody hard ! who knows though one day ay
