i found a really good deal on a 2001 raptor, $2500. it looks a little beat but needs some cleaning. what problems have you had if any on these quads. i heard the 2001's are the ones with all the problems

 

yeah, people reported tranny problems and carbs coming loose i guess.....though if it has lasted this long without the problems it's probably okay.

2nd gear usualy goes out on the 2001's.

 

That and the starters **** out on alot of them.

 

if they tranny hasnt been rebuilt yet it WILL go out just never know when

 

i bought a brand new 01' In the end, i replaced 4 trannies($1500 each) under warrenty also, they denied the problem, 2 carb boots, 3 starter bearings, 2 top ends, 2 clutches, 2 sets axle bearings? all in all the WORST bike as far as reliability. the 02's are great tho

 

ya go with an '02. I was gonna get an 2001 but i bought a 2002 instead. So many problems witht them.

 

If you dont get it I will take the 01 for $2500!! I have an 01 Raptor and they are not that bad unless you beat them real hard!!
