I used to race MX. I got sick of all the egos there and decied to just try fmx. From there I met Tim and Bill and we rode together, I got them into jumping they got me into stunting. Now I practice both but it has been stunting mostly as I have to much snow.

Them cross coutry racers could kill mx racers anyday. Aint nutin like racing for 2-3 hours straight. Especially on ungroomed trails (or very little groomed).

I race MX.... that's what I put the most effort into on a quad. I race the New England ATV MX circuit. I think we are the biggest quad only circuit in the country. It's a lot of fun.. Last year I raced 2 classes. 4stoke Expert and Open Expert, and finished 2nd overall in both. I lost the 4stroke championship by 1 point. Shootin for the front of the pro-am classes next season on a TRX450R. Got lots of good aftermarket parts for sale off a 400ex if anyone is interested...

Don't race...But I prefer riding cross country. I feel that the terrain is more demanding and many obstacles w/different terrain sand, mud, dirt, tree, bushes etc. oh and water..lol

I think now that I'm older the scenery is important to me...the track get's boring to me aft a while.

well they might kill us on the endurance part but for pure speed and skill there is nothing like MOTO-X ! Hey Redrizza I too do moto-x with the TQRA down here in TX and we can have on average 150 quads which is growing all the time how many can you all get on race day it would be interesting to compare.

Speed and skill between both is dabatable. You can't see what's infront of you all the time in C.C. as in MX. And speed I believe you have more speed in C.C. than in MX. Some MX track's are more open than others w/less airtime. Both SX and MX you have alot of jumps which keeps you in the air and takes off the speed factor. C.C.alot of time during certain openings the bikes are top gear WFO and some areas are through trees. You just don't have that in MX and if you do it's usually shorter spirts than C.C.....IMO

Both are technical....but I would never say that you would have better skills over a C.C. rider because you ride MX or SX.
