New wanna be stunta with Raptor looking for answers

Hey guys, I was referred to this site by my good buddie Gixxerking. I got a 03 Raptor thats stock that I'm trying to learn just some basic stunts (wheelies and endos). Whats the easiest way to pop and ride a wheelie? I was practicing for the first time Saturday and if I go WOT I'll bring it up but I dont feel comfortable. Will I flip the quad if, from stop with NO clutch, I just hit the throttle? Also whats the best way to find my balance point? Is there some newbie quad thread I can read?

From a stop rev your quad around 1/4 throttle. In first gear let out the clutch quickly. The front end will come up pretty fast so be ready to let off the throttle. Always keep your foot over the rear brake in case you get too high. If you practice slowly in first gear you will learn throttle control and covering the brake. Those are the two most important things in stunting. Goodluck.

Is it a good thing to put one foot on the rear grab bar?

I like it because I can see where I'm going. It will also **** your wieght back on the quad and make it easier to balance.

I felt more comfortable with my right foot in the grab bar when I started, but the best way is to put your right foot on the brake and your left in the bar. This puts more weight at the back of the quad and makes it easy to wheelie.
It comes down to seat time. The more you ride the better you will get.

Thanks guys. You guys are great. I know anything is possible but how hard is it to flip a quad. Thats one of the things I'm concerned about. Also whats all the tricks you can do on a quad?

I've never come close to flipping mine on asphalt doing a wheelie. That's where I do most my stuntuing. The most important thing is to cover the rear brake. Remember once it comes up, you won't need as much throttle the closer you get to the balance point. If you think your going over, apply the brake, and like Hazen says, seat time. The more you ride, the better it will feel.

nobody will ever beable to tell u how to wheelie. Not even if there standing bye u. They may giuve you tips. But you just gotta practice. MY only tip is if ur sitting make sure ur arms are extended. It helps alot.

My friends rode down in Chats but they said they raised membership fees and that its not worth it because its fairly small. We hit Tower City in PA for trails and we'll occasionally go down to Georges in South Jersey.

Yeah but most of the tricks you do on the 4 wheeler is not that fast so you will tumble and hop right up if you learn how to crash........
