TRX450R/Z400/400EX running @ 12
Re: TRX450R/Z400/400EX running @ 12
trx450r runs no different on the bar than it does on all 4 wheels. Turn the idle up just a tad as they don't really like to be lugged regardless of wheelie or no wheelie (06+ is better in this dept.). I run my idle slightly higher than stock all the time because of this, when i first got it it would just stall out if i was going through a real slow tech section of trail, idle up a bit corrects this. Also once you can ride idle and really slow it down to a creep behind bp, feather the clutch slightly rather than letting it lug. I don't spit out too much gas when i'm behind bp, like doin a coaster, but if your really worried about gas spilling out, adjust your float accordingly & run a longer over flow tube to a big 'ol catch can (you should vent it). If you run only your carb over flow to it and keep it clean, you can just dump the fuel back into your tank. Havn't owned either of the other quads, but wheelied a 400ex and it seemed to do just fine on the bar.
