okay..

i had 2 keys...

one has my dad and he's in kentucky right now... and the other one i lost yesterday when i went riding..

so right now i cant ride..right..?

1st of all im not even 100% sure that my dad DOES have the spare for that quad, since i have 3 yamahas...itns not like u can tell between those stupid keys-ya know..

incase he does have it, i do need an another key, so i dont end up having to re-key the ignition...right?

ohh....

yeah i just want that key...

i really dont wanna go to the dealer and pay all that money for then to make me a key...

its just sooooo much cheaper to get a blank and get it cut...

i swear its cheaper to rekey then to get an another key made @ the dealer...f'n ripoffffff

^^ Ya what he said, there should be two wires, just take them out and it should start. Unless you have electric start then you might be screwed.

Re: *please Help* Need A Blank Key For '05 Yamaha Yfz 450

even with electric start, all you need to do is figure out how to complete the connection that the key switch interupts when you turn it off.

Do what wheeliest said, and you wont get electricuted from those wires. or any wires really without the key on.

if its anything like the raptor i had, leave the key switch in the dash, follow the wires down the steering stem, there should be a plug somewhere, just cut the wires to the ignition crim the two ends together, then unplug it when your done riding it...no one ever knows the difference and you cant steal it by cramming a screwdriver in the switch...
the hondas just unplug with rubber connectors, then just plug the ones from the coil together, you can start about any honda quad in the world by doing that, and the best part is their is no cutting... :YEAH
