+1 coasters are way hard, no doubt about that....but i dont think you need hb to learn them ....also, call it but i went out and was trying them, and i think you can nail them down without a hb....for me i was standing on the grab bar with my right foot and my left foot was up just below the top of the seat, and when it starts to tip i apply pressure with my left foot and push down it is a bitch to master but very possible i try to keep the front end pretty low so i dont worry to much about flipping to much.....to me it is all about that bp ....i only got mine to coast about 5ft :YEAH but that was about after 10min of trying..... also if you dont care just let the fuggen grab bar drag on the ground, and hold the clutch in and bingo you are doing a coaster without a hb i hope i explained this right....

Re: Handbrake??

Long High Chair rev limiter coasters = Impossible without a handbrake

Non Debatable....and if you want to debate it ...please have video proof.

And being on the rear Bar is NOT a coaster ....

dude ....did you have the clutch pulled in for your 5 foot coaster ? If not , then it's not a true coaster.... pull that clutch in and see how learnable you think it is . hehe

Re: Handbrake??

and lastly ....I love my RHB on my xr80 (still learning to use it ...to have that perfect modulation....it's activating a rear drum brake (old school) but it works )
I'm putting one on my F4i also..(dual caliper setup)...and I'm putting one on my Quad also (that plugs into the rear resivior....like what alot of the bikes use....one of my F4i'came with it and I took it off...and Im gonna swap it over to the quad.

Like i care what all the haters say.....pffffft

When you get to the point of doing Hichchair coasters I will mail you a handbreak setup. Until then don't bounce it off rev limiter and just drop the clutch and engine brake it down. In my opinoin tire howling sounds way better than a loud obnoxious motor revved to high

And true stunters scrape exaust pipe and don't have 12 bars

Re: Handbrake??

Oh for real man, They've been attempted already without a hand brake, JD ATC 200 I think his name is on here, Scraping 3rd Gear highchairs out of a coaster and cluching in the engine break to bring them back and continue to ride them away. I know we got it on one of our computers here, I'll bring mine into work tomorrow for you and download it. We got him throwing sparks at night too.

you say you keep your front end low??

i thought you had to come back past balance point for it to be even considered a coaster???

Re: Handbrake??

I think you could do coasters without brakes (whether they be reg. or HB) but you would just have to know your balance point REALLY well..

You would have to rock it back to that point where your bar's not touching the ground and when you chop (or abruptly let off the gas), it kinda dangles there for a second.

When it starts to fall nail it again.

It'd be way hard in SS position but I've done it sittin when i used to have no rear brakes at all.

Re: Handbrake??

what you are describibng BFR is not a coaster..(it's and NTH wheelie)...it is using engine brake.... I believe a true coaster should have the clutch pulled in

Wanna see pure sickness ? I shot these clips last fall.... Check out from 1 minute 47 seconds to 1 minute 58 seconds....11 seconds of SICK Coasting....and he was doing it all day...everyone thought for sure he was gonna blow it up ...LOL

http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...47601423050345

when they have coaster contests at comps.... You cant use engine brake... it's bad enough Bike stunters think we're cheatin by having extra wheels ....Now you guys wanna start cheating on tricks too ??

even the fiddy riders know this ...go read their threads about coasters....they are Holding their shifter Up while doing them (cause it puts their tranny in neutral)

Re: Handbrake??

And then you let the shifter down and engine brake it back, or let the clutch out and engine brake it back, any time your RPM of your motor is turning considerably slower than the RPM Needed to syncro the ground drivetrain, and motor per the correct gear it will rev the motor out and engine brake the rear tire.

Example, You are doing a coaster (have the clutch engaged at low rpm on the motor maybe even idling) in your '89 S-105 speed Manual with a 4 cylinder, and you are coasting at 50mph, you then diengage the clutch with the gear shifter in 1st gear position, what happens dumbass? ...You come to a stop cause the back tires are on lock and the motor is high in the sky.

Ta-Da Brake without brakes, please don't ever become a truck driver

P.S. A coaster aint gangsta if it aint at 11 oclock

Re: Handbrake??

and it doesnt count doing a little 9 oclock wannabe coaster you cant do a coaster past Bp without a break. cuz you need clutch in and a true coaster is pretty much past bp but befor bar and you aint gettin it back from that without letting out the clutch
