So, No Deal....
So, No Deal....
Well, I did the Math...
Looks like you guys can count me out...
I have spent the past month buying up half the **** I see on ebay (well, not literaly, but it sounds cool, right?) for the 'ol quad, built a "custom" "trailer" for the quad to haul behind my Jeep. Fixed the "death-wobble" my jeep likes to do at any speed over 40 (It's amazing how too much toe-in will raise hell with a lifted Jeep)
Back to the quad... New bars, new rotor, new sprocket, twist throttle (I DON'T recomend this, ill explain in a minute) manual choke conversion (little **** on the carb instead of the cable) removed the e-brake cable, secured the plastics and headlight on good (for once) painted the frame and a-arms, washed it, washed it, and washed it some more... O, and modified the pipe and jetted it...
This was ready to go as of Sunday...
I let my buddy try it Monday... Yup... you prolly already guessed it...
First gear (i think... might have been second) tried doing a wheelie with his knee on the seat... lost his footing (didnt have his foot in the grab bar, i think!) rolled the twist throttle WIDE open.... went flying into my neighbors yard WIDE open, hit a stump, which bent everything that hangs down on the rear swing-arm (basicly the sprocket and rotor) the stump sent him sideways into my neighbors truck.
When the dust settled, the quad was humping the side of the truck, plastics were comepletely off it, somehow the headlight is still there, bent the sub-frame, rear rotor, rear sprocket, bars, twist throttle, ripped two wires out of the cdi box, bent the nefs a lil bit, the steering stem is a lil off, as well...
So, no quad for a while...and I do not recomend the twist throttle... I was thinkiing it would be cool, but it is a totaly different animal with that... harder to do stunts, and as you can see, not the easiest for your buddies to control.
Have fun down there guys, I hope I can make it to the one in NY this August...

and Tiller, I will be very interested in a copy of the footage Stevie gets while you guys are down there... I even bought a new cam-corder for this ocasion and everything....

yer buddy gonna pay to fix it ?
Re: So, No Deal....
yeah, whatever cant be bent back or overlooked... Im sure he will as soon as he has some $$$ Till then, no quad... well, i guess I could have it running real soon, but I dont have much ambition to, considering it wont really be drivable...
On a lighter note, Saturday, I was done working on it, (well, i still had the front plastics off of it... hehe my lil street fighter...lol) and i decided to go for a ride... I had to kick it over to reserve, so i booted down the road to get gas... well, I came down the road 3rd gear in a stand up wheelie, almost past the gas station, set it down, pulled in, and l noticed the dude filling the car in front of me was in uniform... the cop who busted me for "driving to endanger" up in milton, his buddy....lol... Milton cop off duty getting gas in his car, and I pull up in a wheelie... hahaha.... he was PISSED... i was like "Hey" and he just shook his head and continued filling...lol

Re: So, No Deal....
Insurance? it's like $10 a month and In Wisconsin is manditory to trial ride(Which I think is bullshit). This dosn't cover engine failure but race insurance does.

Re: So, No Deal....
i have been riding twist throttle since the 2nd week i got my quad and i love it, everything i ride is twist so i switched it right away. The only thing i think that might be harder with the twist is backwards stuff, but i dont do that.
Twist throttle rules, no more tired thumbs
