Question Carburetor question

i just ordered a HMF pipe for my raptor350. i was told that all i have to do was adjust my fuel screw and i would be set. i also purchased a K@N airfilter. both of these items have yet to arrive, but with addition of the K@N filter, does anyone think that i will have to pursue further jetting?

Re: Carburetor question

Well I'm not positive, but I think anytime you add an exhaust you should rejet, but I'm not sure what the factory air fuel ratio is. When you add the K&N along with an exhaust, I'm 99% positive you need to rejet.

yeah, i agree.. i think a new jet will be in order...
you can get them for a few buks thru ur local dealer, if u know the size you need... if not, you can buy the kit for like 30 on ebay...

Re: Carburetor question

Your definetly gunna have to rejet unless you like to have a HUGE bog in the middle of your powerband. Just get jet kit from dynojet. If you go to www.dirtwheels.com they have a whole page on do-it-yourself jetting. Good luck with it!

Re: Carburetor question

I'm not too sure about the raptor 350, but I know the raptor 660 uses a BSR carb which is a vaccume carb....So you need to do a dynojet kit (or comporable) so you can get the new regulator springs & the tapered needles.

I make custom aluminum Undertail Airbox's for the raptor 660R and I know there the only way to go, especially since then it takes all the guess work out of getting close to your correct jetting...I tried just picking up some jets but with those carbs you need the springs.
