yamaha yz426 stunt bike?
Well I am sure this has be discussed some where before. I did as much research as I could on this site and all I could get of use was what wheels to get. I picked up a 2001 yz426 dirt bike for 1000. Its a none title bike that I will most likly trailer to parking lots. My main goal was to make it my dirt bike but I soon realized that since it has no title it is extremely impossible to get it stickered. So here I am wanting to turn it into a stunt bike. I ride a 06 R1 with all the goodies but that is my queen and I do not want to crash it doing stunts. So I figure I should use the YZ. My main questions are what engine and suspension mods should I go with to make this thing street/stunt worthy. At this point I am thinking maybe a simple fork cartridge change and rear spring shock change should be good. Also what about ride hieght? I want to lower ride hieght for better center of gravity. I also wonder about the engine. What mods should be done to make it stunt/street worthy? I know making sure coolant is full at all times is needed b/c of the high rpms with stunting, but what about engine oil? What mods can I do to make sure the engine isnt starved so much oil? I believe those are the main things I should consitrate on. Also, does anyone know where I can get a good rear hand brake kit, and what about gearing? I figure a big pizza dish rear sproket should work lol.
Re: yamaha yz426 stunt bike?
That bike is a beast it was my second dirtbike only thing I hate about that bike is the compression lever starter thingy I believe the year after they did away with that. But the front of that bike comes up easy with all that power should be a nice stunt bike if done right.
Re: yamaha yz426 stunt bike?
dont know much about the yz's always road suzuki's but you should just take it out to the lot the way it is and ride it for awhile. as you progress you will know what you need.
