Whatsup GUYS! ive been browsing the site for a while and have a few questions... I just got a 450X. All street legaled and titled, I wanna change over to all black plastics and a motard style front fender but am having some trouble finding plastics for the x model, everywhere I look its only for the 450R, so my question is is there any difference between the r and x plastics besides the light assembly on the x? will the plastics be all interchangeable? Ive heard the main differences between the x model and the r model is engine and trans specs. so can anyone help me out with the differences between the two bikes and what is interchangeable between them? Also later on when they money starts to come back in I wanna upgrade to motard style rims and tires, are r and x forks and swingarms the same?

The plastics do look to be the same, just check the specs on honda's site and you will see if the forks are the same and all that good stuff. engine probobly has a larger oil capactiy and the gearing is diffrent. ill look into it a little more today sometime

 

i believe everything is same with the exception of the headlight and tailight being the only diff.

maybe gearing? but i really doubt it.

 

i do thin the gearing is diffrent the 450x has a 5 speed wide ratio, 450r is a close ratio. so that is all thats really diffrent that i can see from the specs the X has a Tps also

 

thanks for the replies, i was comparing the 450x plastics and r plastics on the honda website and the only difference i can see is just the headlight (obviously) and the taillight on the 450x. Other than that they look to be the same, then it dawned on me that my 450x has a bigger tank than the R so I started looking around that area and it does look like theres a bit of a difference on the front side plastics, where as the x plastics stick out a little more cause of the fatter tank. It still looks like it would work out cause its only a small difference and the bolts are in the same place from what I can tell, the plastic probably would flex enough for everything to line up. SO... I think im gonna order me a set of black 450r plastics and hope for the best! If anyone knows if it will or will not work please chime in.

 

i'm pretty sure they will fit on the x

 

i own a 450x motard and i just put cr125 white plastics on it, i had to make a few adjustments but they fit pretty well

 

They are different. The x is better for the street.
