I wrecked my car, and of course it was my fault. The adjuster did not call me until a week and a half after the accident. I guess he was returning the third voicemail that I left him. Allstate called today to tell me that they would give me $2100 for my 94 Accord. I responded with "that would not even pay for the aftermarket parts on the car". They stated that they would only give me some credit for the new motor and the head unit. They told me that everything else did not add any value to the car. I said, "value to who, maybe not to some 60 year old man, but to anyone my age performance parts and stereo equipment is very important". Then after I said that they said that my “FULL COVERAGE" policy does not cover anything except the car WTF! They said that I needed to have a separate policy for the stereo and other parts so I asked how was I suppose to know that, I would have never turned down coverage for all my stuff in my car. I asked if they had anything showing that I had declined such a service and all they could say was "No". I said "fine whatever but what about the stuff that was damaged in the wreck? I can't get to my door speakers on the passenger side or the amp under the seat because the whole side of the car is crushed in. Not to mention that the back window is busted out so my 6x9's have been getting rained on." Oh yeah, and they are picking up my car from the body shop tomorrow so that does not give me much time argue money because then the ball is in their court because they will have my car and all of my stuff.

Does anybody have any advice or similar problems?

Dude the same **** happened to me and my mustang. It was a week before Thanksgiving. I supposedly pulled out in front of a 2500 duramax dually in my 95 mustang. To say the least my ***** was destroyed. I came up with 3000.00 in reciepts and they told me to **** off. They expected me to walk away with 3000.00. I wanted to kill the ***** ins adjuster. I still will if I ever meet her. I gave up and 3 weeks later I got a call from a nice lady at progressive and she informed me that I would be getting another 1000.00 in the mail. I didnt have the extra insurence for aftermarket parts but she felt bad for me. If you dont like the answer you get from the adjuster tell him to **** off and keep moving up the chain of comand! You might get lucky but get ready to fight! Also if you dont want you car to get picked up tell them that you refuse to release it. The ins company should have to pay for storage! Good luck man!

 

I would say head to the body shop and take anything that is still worth money such as performance parts and stereo equipment. Then call the insurance company and make your best deal, thats what I did!
