Hard knocks on the Fiddy

I am getting tired of having no skin on my knees and shins!!! What am I doing wrong with my XR50 when trying to wheelie??

Low RPM in 2nd, hit the gas, pull up and lean back. The bike goes up then I start chopping the gas, I know leave the gas constant and use the rear brake. It seems like I have to lean into the rear brake a lot. Then I start to sway left or right. I use my legs like wings to counter the sway. Next thing you know my bike leans hard and me and the bike go down. Friday was a hard crash when I almost hit a parked car. I saved hitting the car by yanking the bike out of the way but both of us crashed hard into a tree. Now I am skinless on my knees and one shin.

I did plan to bring my fiddy to the RM party for lessons but I have a wedding this weekend. Maybe my problem is that when I ride that little bike I am usually wasted.

You using stock knobby tires or did you get street ones? Do street tires make a difference?

I learned drunk but as much as I crash each time I get on one of those i get a little better and it has helped me out on the streetbikes so much this year. I just got a promotion and a raise so hopefully i'll be able to pick one up soon. Till then let me know and I'll come give you some lessons Mike.

you'll get it. the fiddy balances so mint. Just use a easy - constant drag on the rear brake. Me Tony & dat tear the town up on fiddy's. 12's, circles, combo's, windscreen's (dat only).

i'll have mine @ the party FO SHO
