Re: Doing the wheelies

Tires I can get a good deal on that I will choose from will be:

Dick Cepek F-C II Radial Tires

Mickey Thompson Baja Radial Claw

Mickey Thompson Baja Radial ATZ

Procomp Xterrain

Procomp Xtreme AT

I really like the Cepek tires actually.

Then I started looking at 18" rims with 33x13.5 tires, but then said might as well go to 35 at that point.

Then for kicks I decided to look at some 35x13.5 tires on a 20x9 or 20x10 rim ...

Not sure at what point what tire/wheel combo would rub and necesitate a lift.
thicker tires = nicer ride (not wider, thicker) so only get big rims if you want to be the blinging guy

So 35s on 17s would be the nicest ride and 33s on 20s would be the worst ...

What does the width matter between the tire and rim, like the 2 17" rims I am looking at are 9" and 10" respectively ...

Re: Doing the wheelies

17s are obviously significantly cheaper than the 18s or 20s ... I just dont want to go ahead and get 17s with 35's and the setup be too small.

Hmmm, you might have difficulty actually living within New York City or Newark or Elizabeth. I just drink mylanta and I'm fine. I don't do rice and beans tho.

BUT, At least you got to ride the streets.....grrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I rode to nwk just to sit at this show all day, and then gil cancelled the street ride portion, after everybody's bike started falling apart and everyone left. It was an open to all show, so you could have rode without cops bothering you.

Rim width isn't a huge issue with big tires. When you get into low profiles it really matters. A 12.5" wide tire will be fine on a 9" or 10" rim. I wouldn't go wider than 10" or narrower than 8". I believe I have 11.5" wide tires on a 7.5" or 8" rim.

The tires will be the same height. It's just how you want the package to look. I prefer the smaller wheels. 16" or 17" until you get to about 35" tires then you can go to an 18".

Do you know for a fact you can fit 35" tires without a lift? That's a lot of tire.
