Re: Wednesday
It was about SL being slow. Scott posted why he thought it was slow and some computer nerd, that's never been on before, wanted to start a pissing match saying Scott was an idiot. I missed Scott's retort but he got banned.

Furthermore, I, unlike Dave, have no people skills whatsoever, so I'm going to be blunt. Your comments are not helpful and are therefore not wanted. If you make any more snotty comments on things you know absolutely nothing about, you're going to get a warning, followed by a temp ban so you can cool off.
However, because I know you'll probably continue to complain, I'm going to give you some info. This site runs from 4 servers: 1 web server, 2 mysql servers in a replicating pair, and 1 server running the search. The web server typically has a load of less than 1.0 at peak times, the mysql servers are generally around 1.0 & 0.4 (the second only accepts read-only queries), and the search server never deviates from 0 unless it's reindexing.
All of the hardware used is top-notch (much more than other sites of this size are using) and the binaries & config files have been heavily optimized by myself, eva2000 from vbulletin, and with suggestions from the guys at mysqlperformanceblog.com (who have consulted on sites WAY larger than this one).

Re: Wednesday
Riiiiight, cause we're all bike riding retarts that dont understand computers right... it's not like some of us (coughscottcough) work with them or anything... LMFAO
Re: Wednesday
Some computer nerds have a god complex like they are very vital when in reality unless you find yourself a niche it's an oversaturated job market from what I have seen. Not as bad as mortgage brokers though.
