Does your bike work?
Re: Does your bike work?
When I did it, it worked best to have 3 guys. One guy on the staging where the shingles were stacked. He'd pass them (in small stacks, 4 or 5) to a guy half way up the roof. That guy would put the shingles close to where they needed to be, one at a time. The third guy would make the final adjustment and nail that bitch down. We could fly along pretty good.
Ya having someone hand you shingles saves SO much time. Shingler just sets it quick and grabs another. Best way to do it IMO.

Re: Does your bike work?
Do you know how to line up the shingles to begin? I can't remember the measurements but I think you want to snap two chalk lines 18" apart for the right-left alignment and check your horizontal lines every 3-4 courses.
Re: Does your bike work?
He should snap a line every row. Just because he hasnt done it before.
