I just got laid..
Re: I just got laid..
Word, I'ma start looking into it a little bit more. Thanks tho
I might hit you and scoot up with some more questions lol.
No worries - appreciate the help. I'm not giving up on Ubuntu just yet. Seems pretty cool and its cool how they have sooooo many programs for free while you gotta pay for them using Windows. I like the idea of the dual boot system though just in case there is something I need from Windows, at least I'll be able to have windows setup and ready to use

Re: I just got laid..
No need to dual boot my friend. Just download vmware server from vmware - it's free. Then you install it and you create a virtual windows box within your linux system. Whenever you want it just fire it up, it's just another window on your desktop at that point. You can snapshot it too - so if you get a virus just roll it back to the snapshot and go.

Re: I just got laid..
We've been thinking about doing that at work. I set up an internal sharepoint site that's now getting a HEAVY amount of traffic, and these ********* that need designer rights are constantly destroying the site. Restoring it is a pain in the ***. Restoring a snapshot would make it so much easier. I'd also be able to use 1 box to set up 2 servers and have a sandbox Any disadvantages to running VMWare on a large server that gets pounded all day?

that sounds gangsta. okay so now i gotta just figure out why its running so slow. maybe its the computer. i never really use my spare pc and i dont think it has as much ram so maybe it always ran slow
I guess I'll see when I reformat this pc. Time to back **** up and then reformat and download vmware
Thanks
Re: I just got laid..
Hahaha nice. It's crazy how cheap electronics in general cost. **** you can build a really nice pc for under $500 where a pc in the 90s with comparable parts for it's time would have cost you 1500+
Re: I just got laid..
Ive never bought a pc, and ive had hundreds lol. closest thing ive ever bought was a usb wireless b/g/n/whater thingy, because i couldt find one at work.
Re: I just got laid..
Haha. I always built mine. It's ridiculous the mark up Dell hp etc charges when you can get the same exact parts and put it together for hundreds cheaper, especially back then.
