I took apart my air compressor today at lunch to see how it failed. It wasnt the rod, but the base of the cylinder itself was cracked off. every time the piston goes up and down, the whole cylinder goes with it. The metal is cast aluminum, way too shitty to weld. I dont think its even strong enough to bolt/screw a plate to it. Im gonna do some serious rigging and make it work using a tie down strap. It just needs to last long enough to blow out the garden hose and fill up one jeep tire.

 

just have Becky blow out the garden hose.....it'll be good practice for her!!
