Yes, cut off. She was launched from the bike off a 25' bridge into nasty swamp water with one of her legs missing. Then swam to shore possibly while wearing a helmet and jacket.

I don't think that was a real gun. Maybe a pellet gun or something. If it was his boys wouldn't have been taunting him calling him a ***** and would have helped him out more and they would have knocked him out with some skateboard truck hits to the face.
