More for looks and wind protection. Only time it hurts to get hit with rocks in in the chest/neck/throat/eyes/face.

yeah well the biggest complaint on the "play bikes" is the suspension and being over 200#'s I really felt it......AND I suck......I didn't do much more than poppa stoppies on the 954....but it's one thing I'd really like to learn to do

yeah but you usually have a helmet on and on a ff street bike your hands are mostly hidden....or at least that's what I was thinking anyway......I still don't like the look of them much.....

plus with a hand brake on it must be really tight to get everything to fit with the handgaurds.....

I think stoppies and coasters will be this weekend's fun. Unless I can get a little bite offroad with the street tires.

Streetfighter and I ride with my visor up 90% of the time.

Handguards mount to the bar ends and the side of the forks (upper tripple tree bolt mounts).

I'll flat track it if is isn't too bad. But if it is real creamy it is hopeless.

What's a 600RR worth to a stunter with a clean title?
