ford did produce european turbo diesels, like the one used in the range rover which has been rumored to be slated to come here in the f150 - and that engine has had very good success quality wise

It will be interesting. If you can remove the DPF, and block off the EGR system and dump more fuel it should haul ***.

No they didn't. Navistar did.

Re: Semi work safe

Talked to the guy at work about going up to the dunes. His advice:
Buy a flag up there
Get a filter sock
clean any grease off the bike before going
watch out when it is sunny because hills look smaller and gentler than they really are.

Ford would not have put an engine into a vehicle without testing the **** out of it. Especially the 6.4L.

I'm just going to buy one so I have my own mount and flag. We heading up early in the morning Saturday?

Wrong. I bet they only used the engine to test their transmissions. They don't test our lamps on the vehicle, they rely on the suppliers component testing. However the tests and test criteria are set up by Ford.

Their relationship with Navistar was fucked at that point. I'm sure they tried to lean on them to do better testing and not "fudge" results, but I am sure Navistar didn't give a **** at that point.
