I can't see how Ford's first diesel can actually work out. I see a huge failure rate the first couple years.

 

lots of changes for sure .. the cgi block sounds cool as does the new turbo(complicated too)

 

should work better than there 6liter...

 

You just answered your own question. They know the 6.0L sucked. They know they can't have any problems with the launch of this engine or they risk losing market share to other companies, so they tested the living **** out of it to make sure all problems were found and addressed.

 

I still see the first one failing.

international/navistar ... the 6.0 and 6.4 sucked ... i will bet this motor performs like the 7.3

 

I just left a better working engine in the toilet bowl.
It did, as well as the first couple thousand. Then they evaluate the failures, fix the cause and re-test. Then they repeat until they fix all the problems.

 

The article made it sound like they made the diesels for the european market. I'm not sure though. I've got to think the car and truck ones are completely different.

 

They can only test so much. We'll see what happens when the general public gets ahold of it.

Same here. Even have to put the car seat behind the passenger seat because there is no room behind me. I'm 6' 3" though. Thing sucks on gas and eats tires.

 

I haven't had trouble with tires but the car seat is behind the passenger and I can't ride shotgun with it there. I'm 6'3" as well.

 

Ford didn't make those ... international/navistar did
