Seriously. Property is on sale there for under $500 and they still can't sell it. A lot of skyscrapers are abandoned as well. They just had an auction for a ton of property and almost none of it sold.. and some were selling for like $100. ****'s gotta be worse than the Bronx in the 80's by far. People are running for the hills

Go to any real estate broker online and search for housing listings. You'll see hundreds priced under $1000. I did it myself. The problem is that even though you're buying the house for $500, you can't just buy it and let it sit. You have a certain amount of time to make it meet regulations which will cost you a lot. You also need to pay taxes on it, which are considerably more than the cost of the house.

Also, they auctioned off 9000 properties the other day and they didn't even sell.

Despite a minimum bid of $500, less than a fifth of the Detroit land was sold after four days.
