i think most of us have dumped it a couple of times without one and know better now.
GOTTA rock a helmet! Yeah Yeah, its too hot....can see better without it...blah blah blah.
IT'L SAVE YOUR MELON I cant stand when we're out and I see some knuckle head flying down the highway in a standup with no lid.
I know we've all done it but live and learn. I dont even jack around with slow stuff (not that I can do much but...) with no lid anymore. Not worth it. Besides, I want to be around tomorrow to ride again

Hmm helmets wont alwayz save ur a$$... I know someone whos father was riding with a passenger and they were just cruising the highway and got cut off, ended up setting it down and sliding and when my friends father went to check on the passenger the passengers head was still in the helmet, it was cut off by the guardrail

And another thing when rocking slow stunts id shy away from wearing a helmet cuz i mean when im snowboarding i go a hell of alot faster than 10mph and im not wearing a helmet then , iv taken plenty of concussions because of it but for some odd reason im still helmetless...

even if the helmet doesn't make it any safer to ride.. if your not wearing one and you wreck.. must insurance companies wont cover a thing. or your wearing one and its not DOT approved..

I have read several different places recently that this is EXACTLY why the sport hasn't gone further, cuz so many stunters refuse to wear gear.

I just don't get it. Even the BEST stunters still crash sometimes. It's inevitable when you're pushing the limits doing crazy **** on bikes. Crashing hurts. Road rash hurts. Gear can be the difference between some nasty road rash, or not a scratch on you. Or having to buy a new helmet, or your family having to buy you a casket.

Yet apparently road rash is cooler than wearing gear?

Personally the minimum gear I will ever wear is helmet, jacket, gloves jeans and boots. I wear mesh jacket/gloves if it's really hot and I'm just riding around town. But I still feel kinda naked if I don't have full gear on, and always wear it out hit the twisties & whatnot.

Actually it kinda makes sense if you're doing low speed stuff, as you stay a lot cooler in a dirt bike helmet than a street helmet, and they have better peripheral vision.

I'd think those new hybrid/supermoto helmets would be good for stunting?

Any fast tricks I'll have my lid on, but for 12's and slow tricks I won't wear it.
