Re: I heard that the pay outs for cycle Palooza are cut in 1/2
oftentimes the problems with judging is not due to the judges themselves, but rather to the lack of education and preparation on the part of the organizers. too often the judges do not know the criteria AHEAD OF TIME (or anytime for that matter) on which they are judging.
and just because someone is a great rider and can do all the tricks, it doesnt mean they are a good judge (not a shot at 'rock or todd)...they still have to adhere to the criteria given to themselves as well as the riders, and actually pay close attention to all the little details...too many judging factions screw themselves by leaving no room for improvement, thus losing the difference between a foot down in one run and the lack thereof in another run...
too bad, hopefully it will be better next year.

Chilling at the Royal Inn after the shows were over both nights was fun too
Cant wait to do it all over again at Stuntwars
Oh yeah, putting a huge Gixxie Girl Riderz decal on the back of Todd Colberts trailor at the end of the show was hilarious, i got pics of it!

On a interesting note:
When this thread was posted asking for help:
https://www.stuntlife.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=100238
on Nov 15th, it only has 34 repsonses and 618 views
When it's over this one has how many repsonses/views (and counting)?
Some of you made suggestions before, by why wait till after the fact to just bash when it's too late?
But then again, I don't know what happened.

Re: I heard that the pay outs for cycle Palooza are cut in 1/2
For those that saw the previous posts a few months back, we did our part in trying to prevent this from being a complete "Cluster Fu@k" (which was the most used phrase of the weekend). However, it was like talking to children with deaf ears. I even spoke with Scott and Steve a few times leading up to the event and they wanted to follow through with their word to the select parties as they were promised great things. Yet, as we all know those promises could not be followed through and only did what they could to help benefit themselves.
I could go on about the judging for days as well, but that was also an important detail that was overlooked apparently. Sure you had judges, but there was no discussion on how to judge the event until the event actually took place. Yes, as the riders were warming up the judges were given the criteria and that is what greatly extended the warm-up times. This should have been set in stone at least a minimum of one week prior to the whole event even taking place. It's easy for us to sit back and critique after or during an event, but what bothers me the most is that the ones running this particular event were too stubborn to listen to the help that was dished to them or ask for it prior to it. Scott and Steve gave the organizers what ever was needed to make this a successful event, yet the promises were not delivered and the minor/important details were overlooked. Now these individuals are probably going to be pointing fingers all over the place other than themselves.
I still can't understand how judges or organizers were allowed to compete for money.?. They asked me if we wanted to compete about 2 months ago back at the drawing board and I said it would be better if we didn't to avoid any favortisim...should be common sense to most people. I'm not bashing any particular person(s) as I consider them my friends, but just stating the facts that added to this competition becoming a "cluster fu@k".
Tony D...Chubbz would of had a blast though if you were there as he has been calling you out at the past two events he announced at...Chubbz sure can get a crowd going .

Re: I heard that the pay outs for cycle Palooza are cut in 1/2
first off... YOU DONT COMPETE AT YOUR OWN EVENT/SHOW, do you ever see todd competing at stuntwars, do you ever see scott/ kevin competing at starboyz stuntfest???????(like i said, i wasnt there cuz i had a feeling this would go down the way it did, so that makes this comment just my thoughts)
second, couple posts talking about breaking promises... well that what happened to us. when we were at the lakeland show and an un-named person came to our tent with the cyclepalooza flyer, trying to get us there, said stuff like "we are getting all the riders rooms for them for free for the weekend" and " riders get into the show for free" and " there will be a rider hospitality tent with free food and drink", then it was "do you want me to put your name down?" pffft, hell yeah you can. B U T, then when i contacted about the room situations, i was told by the next person in line.. yeah, i can put your name down, prolly gonna be $50-$60 bucks a nite. so you can see why i/we really lost intrest in going to this event.....
