What kind of bike?

What kind of bike?
I know alot of it's personal preference, but I'd like to pick up a BMX flatland/freestyle type bike this summer and wondering what I should look at as far as bike specs go and what brands to steer clear of. Price is also another thing Sub-$300.

i've got a hoffman ep and i love it, only problem is i haven't done much flatland on it cause i can't afford to buy a new pair of shoes every other week, so it looks brand new, but either way, that's a great bike, you'd have to find a used one if you're looking to go under $300,

If you're looking at getting a flatland bike, chances are you're not going to pick one up for less than 350$ unless it's used. If you're just starting out and want to do a little bit of everything, the Haro F-4 is a great bike. If you want to get into flatland only, then the cheap way to go would be to try to find a Hoffman EP, a WeThePeople Pony - used, or a Fly Micromachine. Those are great bikes and very popular. Are you looking to get one through a bike shop or online? I'd try online if I were you. You would definately find some better prices and better bikes. Plus, the online people would know a little more about the whole BMX scene rather than a bike shop guy. Try www.danscomp.com or www.flatlandfuel.com DansComp has a pretty big inventory of street/bmx bikes, and a small portion of flatland bikes. FlatlandFuel has a big selection of flatland bikes and a couple street/flat bikes. I hope this helps!
