How close to balance point?

How close am I to the balance point in this picture? I'm just learning the bike and don't want to go too far. I'm doing about 50mph in the picture.

You have a ways to go there bub. But why are you even asking? According to you, you are already rocking bp wheelies for a whole 100feet or so.. right? Shall I post the link?

Re: How close to balance point?

I did but it was at 25 or 30mph so I had the bike almost vertical, I'm not quite sure how high the BP is though at highway speeds.

I'm gonna go out and practice again on the highway.

Re: How close to balance point?

My brother as he was leaving, I had a good one on a 45mph road but we passed a cop and I had to ditch him. Then we went to a spot and I didn't have a lot of space.

I can't wear my 1 piece cause I can't even get the bike up with it on, it's too constricting. I'm hoping to get a jacket soon.

Does it feel like you're getting a rug pulled from under you, like you go back really swiftly?

Almost there FHL, Im proud. Just don't post more stupid stuff! The balance point will feel nice... keep bringing it up a bit higher each time and stay on the throttle.

Yeah the first time I got it up standing was yesterday. I might have some more pics on the highway tomorrow.

Re: How close to balance point?

Nice work mate, same as everyone else...just be smooth with it.

I know someone already mentioned it but dude get some gear on, I'v crashed enough to know how much its gonna burn....
You said your 1 peice won't fit - try getting it wet and then stretching...or just buy/borrow someone elses. you don't want to bin it and then be in hospital for weeks getting skin grafts, instead of drink beer in the shed trying fix it.

just my

Re: How close to balance point?

no i got a few questions.. how long did it take you guys to learn BP? because i've been chasing that **** for a year now.. I looped my bike a year ago.. and about 6 months i started doing wheelies again.. and i just bought a new R6.. and its so much easier.. but **** man.. I'm scared to hold em.. I cover my rear brake physically.. but mentally I dont use it.. I still engine brake..
its getting ****** frustrating.. this BP is kicking my ***.. I can only hold my wheelies for like 5 seconds.. or 8 if i'm lucky.. GAWD!!

Re: How close to balance point?

looks good..just practice and cover the brake so you dont go loopy loopy...also 2nd and 3rd gear wheelies are going to have a lower balance point because of the wind pushing the bike upwards..but your close..lets see more pics

Get a bmx bike or a 50. I learned rear brake control on my bmx bike. Believe me sit down wheelies are hard on a bicycle and you really have to know how to use the rear brake unless you want to loop every other try.

yeah what he said

it's all about the fiddy learning action, it will teach you rear brake control quick, and the "feel" of the balance point, obviously the bp will be different on a larger bike but you'll get the feel of it.

I used to wheelie my 01 gix 6 and I could ride the 1st and 2nd gear out but never was at the bp(well in 2nd for a breif time), I got my fiddy and rockin' miles on it, then one day I jumped on my buddies TL1000s and rode the **** out of a 2nd gear, felt like I was stuck there and it wouldn't come down, I was like WOOOT WOOOT., now I can wheelie big bikes like mad.

MY ADVICE GET A FIDDY IT WILL TEACH YOU, WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW.

Nice wheelie, you finaly started practicing insted of talking bs. Good job. Your not far from BP, depends on how fast your realy goin. BP doin 25-30mph isn't almost vertical, it's just feeling you get from the riders point of view.

Re: How close to balance point?

yeah your right in the "hump" yer goin to have to give it more throttle and stay with it for awhile, i cant pull up 2nd gear yet on my F2 but ive reached balance point many times in 1st with it, feels scary just gotta react quick enough to roll off the throttle slightly and give it alittle bit of break and TRY to hold it in that area, just keep practicing and you'll get it.
Man i wish i could pull up 2nd on my F2, its even geared down -1 in the front and i cant even get it close to that point.
