03 636 refinish project for 09

This is the blue 636 I rode in "After the fallout" I wrecked most of the body work and bought new used oem plastics.

Stripped entire bike. Gloss Black powder on chassis and Case covers.
05 swing arm
06 wheels are ready for paint.

Sanded the living **** out of plastics by hand.
One of my best friends is a paint salesman for Martin Senior Paints(a Sherwin Williams Company. So I got hooked up with this sick *** paint. Still costed me 600

I'm not gonna say what color it is until I get is sprayed.
Its been primered and wet sanded with 400 grit.
Just needs a quick scuff and base coat, mid, coat and Getting this new anti scratch clear.

Bikes only stunt modes will be an FI cage, Maybe a hand brake maybe not.
Stock everything else, Putting Mirrors and Signals.
Not planning on dropping this thing ever.
Too much time spent sanding body it sucked!!

Re: 03 636 refinish project for 09

I am thinking about doing something with the ugly plastic batter tray.
I want to have a piece of diamond plate laser cut to fit over both sides of it.
Then powder them black to match. I'm thinking a good way to attach the plates to the plastic. I am thinking rivets? any ideas?

you say paint in clear. $100 sounds like shitty single stage paint to be.

you spray a few coats on and you done.

That what I do to my stunt bikes. Last single stage paint I bought was $140. It was enough to shoot two sets of race bodywork.
And it looks like a $140 dollar job also.

This engine bay paint was 500. Its planet of colors "burning ice
remember its a 3 stage paint.

This engine bay was stripped to bare metal., etch primed, base coat, mid coat, then clear.

This pic is ****. In person it looks like diamonds shine through the paint.
Painting the rest of my G ride this year I hope.
That is when I rob that bank!!!
