91 Yami SF Transformation!!!
So, i picked up this 1991 FZ600 for a grand offa ebay. Picked it up, ran allllright (on the rough and rich side) and had potental, but overall didnt like the looks. I bought it for a project, eventually for the wife to ride, and started working on it. Day 1, engine stops running. We work all day on cosmetics and stuff and change the spark plus, and the cables for the spark plugs, and get a new battery.
Day 2, go to the shop for little stuff like mirrors and blinkers (wife needs to take the test on this bike, so it has to be inspected) and find a few differant acerbis headlights for 45 ****** dollars... hell yes.
Long story short, after fixing the motor, puttin some clear coat on, changing stuff, and making it look better, here are the befores and afters. :YEAH Note: It has the golf club blinkers on the rear because i dont have the resister to the LEDs and the DMV wont let her take the test with the LED ones... so the clubs stay till the test is done.

What ya think? for my wifes first bike, its not that bad. Its a super fun bike to ride.
We got more stuff on the way like new, not-bent clipons, painting and putting spider web on thew sheild, the LEDs, and Im trimming a ninja 250 belly pan to fit, its just awaiting paint.)

Re: 91 Yami SF Transformation!!!
The motor is seized like a ****, and its on a wooden block right now. Were still gonna work it, but i might be getting sent somewhere or another cause of the marines, so the Ninja has been put on the back burner for the time being. Cause A) i dont want to put a **** load of work into it, then have to get rid of it and lose money, or B) start getting elbows deep into the project then have to leave
When i find out whats gonna happen with my orders, the ninja may or may not come to life.

Re: 91 Yami SF Transformation!!!
Oh, the seats when we got it were originally covered with an old T shirt (literally)
We went to joann's (fabric store) and they sell this Marine Vynal (meant to withstand the weather) and its like 6 bucks for 1 yard by 1.5 yard peice... more than enough to do 2 seats. We covered them, and Kira embrodered that "K" on the seat by hand, then we put some clear shoe goo over it to make it last. It was another nice cosmestic tweek to betterthe bike.

Re: 91 Yami SF Transformation!!!
We got sliders were gonna put on it for now. Dunno about a cage, not sure if shell want to do anything more than little pop the front wheel up wheelies.
As far as the pics of here riding it, last night before we could get new plugs, we put a dab of wd40 in the carbs to try and run the motor and get the carb cleaner through the carb. So, this afternoon with the new plugs in we let it run with full choke on for about 5 minutes, and pinged it off the rev limiter a few times. Some old **** bag came out yelled at us, and called the cops. Were waiting a little bit to let her take it around the block. She doesnt want to leave the aparment complex cause she doesnt want to get nailed for no lisence.
+ side though, the cop was cool. He was like "damn thats a good deal, and you guys have it lookin real nice now.... just keep quiet for a few hours till the old man takes his nap. Then work somemore."
The shield is done, about to be installed. Just finished the clear coats. :YEAH
I had the spider web centered at first, and didnt like it, i like how this turned out better.

Re: 91 Yami SF Transformation!!!
Nice job Eri! Gonna be lookin for a bike for the wife myself here soon. You're giving me inspiration to revive an old beast like you did! Tell your wife I give her props for her embroidery/wrenching skills!
