Its a real funny bike the only parts on it that are actually 02 are the frame, tank, bodywork/headlight, and rims. Its completley custom swapped 04 600 motor and wiring,

How did the motor mounts line up on the motor/frame? you have to make a custom bracket or did they line up?

Right front mount was off about 5mm so I just made a custom spacer to replace the OEM one that has a hole right in the middle, mine is the same but the hole is off to one side to line up with the motor mount.

The left front was off about 10mm also but there is no spacer so I welded up the hole and had the area between the frame and motor built up with weld. Then I machined the welded are flat and drilled a new hole that lines up wiht the motor mount.

The left side middle mount and both rear mounts line up perfectly, air box had to be customized a little and the wiring is all over the place nothing goes where its supposed to.....But it works and the 04 is night and day compared to the 03 and older GSXR 6 motors.....

Re: Friends bikes I built

Wow, thats alot of customizing. Im sure its worth it to have that new engine in there. I have an SRAD and am getting to the point were all of the parts are starting to come form different years of bikes. I have had this bike for 4+ years and I love riding it now more then ever because I know it inside and out and I have made it what it is (it is my first bike and Ive everything Ive done on it was my first time doing it). Nice work on all of the bikes, they look great.

Both lost their digits to the rear sprocket.
But why not put the piece on. It doesn't make a big difference and its not like you have to get to the front sprocket every day.

I really like the 636 and 954
thats a crazy 02/04 gsxR
Sweet work.

Well your 04 cage lined up perfectly to the 04 motor mounts because Im using those, the 2 front motor mounts on the frame and OEM spacer are modded that 1/4". I think the width was a little off because the 04 frame is a little different than the 02 but I just stacked washers for the mockup, And I'll just machine up some spacers soon.

I'll have some nice pics tommorrow my buddy just finished the 954 tonight, dirt bars arent my thing but I cant deny I think it looks pimp:YEAH For a DB'd streetfigher

Thanks for all the replies winter is way to long and when I cant ride bikes I have to work on them to keep hope alive. And you know how friends are whatever your doin they want too, but Im happy to help them ***** way too expensive to have done. Better show them off now because I know atleast mine wont ever look that good again........
