Help with System

Trying to hook my subs up to my 2003 Grand Am GT. Can't find the remote power to hook it up. Rumor has it it is not directly on the back of the stock header unit (which i'm using) Anyone install a system to their stock radio on this car? HELP!!

use the radio fuse on the side of the dash (driverss side) DO NOT USE A CONSTANT If you want to hook a toggle up than just wire the system than cut the remote wire and tap it in. What are you doing for RCA'S If you have the monsoon system in there than you are going to have to go to the output side of the amp and do not tap into factory sup for line convet

For rca's i'm using an adapter ? I think... an audiolink.

does it have a power antenna? if so, there are two power leads going to it. one will be dark blue, and one will be orange with a green stripe I beleive. you can tap the remote into the blue wire.

That's scary... remind me to never let you touch my car, it might fall apart Just playing

I got the system hooked up last night. The '03 grand ams are really dumb. I ended up getting all the wiring info from the dealer and the remote wire was not there lol.

We needed to find something that shut off with the car, so we couldn't use the radio fuse. So we hooked it up to the windshield wiper fuse and it worked. Only has to last me 2 yrs til the lease is up!

Thank for all the help! you guys are GREAT!!

Dumb idea. Ever have your wipers go out driving 75 in a rainstorm? Here is an experiment that simulates it: Drive 75, close your eyes, try to pull onto the shoulder of the road with your eyes still closed. Not fun.

Now why would that happen?

Too much current draw through the wiper fuse, fuse blows, wipers don't work.

I'd have to look at your fuse block to see how it is wired now, and what a better way would be. Maybe the cruise control fuse?
