has anyone put on a master link?

now im getting the chain back on and i got the new master link. all it does is hammer on, you would think there would be something else holding it. has any one done this and does that sound right?

its a rivet style master link, i advise getting/borrowing the chain rivet tool and do it the right way .. (u need to mushroom the ends)

broken chains + engine cases dont mix well- just ask joe(smokey) - bye bye motor nice hole

Even if the chain came with both styles of master...use the rivet type and do it right. Just as Slothy said...broken chain can cost ya big bux...then you will be up seeing me and my TIG welder.....
