about the track day

Got a couple quick questions. I think last night, we were told it was the 17th. Just wondering if anybody was going on the 18th? I have already made a commitment to help my friend move, so the only day I have available is the 18th.

Also, Jay mentioned the deal about the Pirelli Diablo's you can get at the track. I'm thinking about grippin em up there, but at the same time, this will be my first track day. So you're talking new tires that I have no experience with, on a track I obviously don't know, on my first ever track day. I'm wondering if I should at least get tires before from Tony and get them scrubbed in first to rid myself of one of the "pucker" factors.

What do you guys think?

Just *****'en stunt it! :YEAH

The best time those tires are ever gonna grip is when they're brand spank'en new. But for someone who's never been at a track day before, your not gonna notice the difference on a tire with 50 miles on it or brand new. I would get it done whenever your free.

Don't worry about scrubbing them in. If you are in Level 1 or the beginners group, the first couple of sessions if they do a round robin, you will not be going fast enough for the problem to come up. During that time you can scrub them in and they will be ready. I have raced a set of tires brand new, with the sticker still on them, no tire warmers, knee on da deck cranked over in Turn 1. You will be fine bruh, no worries

Thanks guys!

now do I have to remove the wheels myself at the track, or just take the bike right to them. I don't have stands.

Seen crashes way to many times.......... Thats why its better to run expert sessions cuz everyone already knows how to ride. :YEAH

Just as I said at the meeting Twice.....Jay Tony or I will give pointers if asked too. First 3 laps should be to get your tires to a warm nuff tempature.

I am sure that we both have, no doubt about that. But like I said, if he runs level 1 and they do round robins.......he will not have to worry about any of that.

I think he is talking about the novice when you follow the instructor and than you lead one lap than drop to back so he can tell you how you are doing

What Tim said......I guess it is just a thing that is done here in Texas, not sure about any other riding organizations that put on Track Days. But that is what a round robin is. A group of riders follow an instructor, shows them lines and gets them familiar with the track, before they are let lose so to speak.

Racers would not know of this, because once the flag drops..........it is everyone rubbin elbows and gettin slidewayz ya hurd
