Small project, about the size of a garage door opener. The parts need to be bought or "borrowed" from someones work. Although I have the schematic for the layout, a circuit board will need to be custom made.
Purpose:
Amuzment on long trips! When triggered, the device emits a radar wave setting off radar detectors in passing cars. For kicks, watch a Z28 fly by you at 100 mph, then click the button :D You see the driver calling 911 as he goes into cardiac arrest from thinking a cop is clocking him. ha ha ha.
The FCC prohibits the sale of such devices as they can be tuned to jam radar guns. There is an adjustable oscilator, if I named the right part, that can be tuned to various frequencys. When tuned you can aim the device at a radar gun and the gun will only read the signal emitting from the device....ie, 40mph, 55mph, 65mph, etc... even though your actual speed is different.
I could care less about tuning it, but would like to use it on our trip to FL!
