Storage Questions

Well im gonna put it away finally..i was gonna take it out 2 days ago..but the bitch wouldent start..think the plugs went..it started for about 2 mins..i pulled the choke up..and it stalled..and now wont turn..getting the pop outta the exhaust..so its done for the year. I got a cover for it..im gonna pull the battery out..and most likely throw some stablizer in the tank. What about stands? anybody know a place to get some good ones not to pricey? Really cant afford to go all out right now..anybody got any their not using? Other then that...i wanted to change the oil and run it and let the oil run threw the engine..but thats not gonna happen with fouled plugs..so hopefully it'll be alright through the winter.

No dude, if you change the oil before storage the idea is to NOT run it. When you run it the oil becomes contaminated, and some of those acidic contaminates will damage a stored engine by causing pitting and blah blah blah. The process is to put stabil in the tank, run it through the lines...then change the oil. The bike won't start cause it's too damn cold. ha. But i wouldn't worry about it...just park it till next year. :D

Your joking I hope. I have never heard of that. I don't see how that is possible either. Dry rot is caused by ozone in the air, it gets worse with UV light. About the best you can do is use 303 spray on them to keep them from rotting but...dude...if you have to worry about your tires dry rotting before they wear out your not riding enough. lol. Just move your bike a few times during the winter and you don't have to worry about flat spots..other than that...your wasting your time IMO.

Yeah bluot's right about running the stabilizer THROUGH your lines. As for stands. I just bought one rear stand(used for $20) and made a front one out of wood(2x6). That way you won't get flat spot's. Just my .02 Oh and Kev the board is up and running just fine thanks for asking
