Angry Construction Sucks!!!

So me, wizz and a few others tried to head out to Ann Arbor today.. Bad idea....

94, 696, 96, 75 and Michigan Ave were all jacked up and jam packed with traffic jams..

It sucked as.. Basically rode for 5 hours and went like 80 miles..

Avoid heading west on those roads....

I found that out on Saturday. Left here a half hour late going down 94 traffic jam expressway closed. Had to go up the offramp and down the onramp. Then get by the airport and its down to 1 lane.coming home took 275 to 696 and its closed at Couzens. 40 minutes later i got on the service drive and thats down to 1 lane. By the time i made it home it was 5:45 and i had to be in Richmond by 6:20 for my bowling league. Took 94 to New Haven exit and had to wait 5 minutes there for the light to change cause there's one lane open on the bridge. Finally got to some backroads and got there at 6:30 just as everyone was starting. This is ridiculous, construction on every road even the detours. I think i'm just gonna start staying home.

I've taken to lane splitting lately. Its really improved my travel times! I've got a very short commute to work, so whenever I get stuck in traffic I get impatient pretty quickly.

I only split or hit the shoulder when traffic is stopped though. Scares the hell out of me when people start moving next to me!

I've done the lane splitting thing once in a while. It's a judgement call. It sure does seem to **** some people off... but the way I see it: They are sitting on cushy seats, with a radio and A/C. Me on the other hand, I'm boiling in leathers and jeans, on a 225degree bike and my clutch hand is starting to cramp. So I'm gonna get moving....

Exactly! To damn hot to sit around.

My excuse to myself is that they're getting in my way by choosing to drive cages, and I'm not getting in their way by splitting. See ya!

Yea I agree, splitting or riding the shoulder is a lot faster... Came home from Michigan State University yesterday (9-21) and 696 was completely closed... The traffic Jam was goin 5 mph for about 15 miles. I'm really glad I had the bike to save time, I beat my best friend who was in a Jeep Wrangler by over an hour... Some of us can't afford to be late to work anymore.
