Twisties
Twisties
Yesterday I did a bit of riding on Huron River Dr west of Ann Arbor. Take M14 west and get off on exit 3 (I think its business 23). Take an immediate 180 deg right turn onto Huron River Dr. I followed it to North Territorial, then turned around and came back.
Between the highway and Mast rd was relatively entertaining at about 80 mph (in a 35 zone). There was WAY to much traffic heading west. We were doing a lot of double yellow passing, only to catch up to the next car before the next turn. East bound wasn't to bad, we only had to pass 3 cars.. If you can find a time during the day that its not busy, I recommend trying this road out. We were on it at about 4:30, right when everyone was on their way home.
Between the highway and Mast road there are two stop signs, and only a few drive ways to look out for. The asphalt patching crews had been out recently, so you had to look out for loose gravel between the highway and Zeeb rd. After Zeeb the road was clean.
On a sport bike, its mildly entertaining at around 80. I was able to finally rub my tires all the way to their edges. I'll definately be back on my '78 Goldwing with my wife, and it shoud be a very scenic and entertaining ride at about 60. I'll also be doing some more exploring of the area on my 919. I understand there are other roads in that area that are nice rides.
So, where are the other twisties in SE Michigan?

South Jackson is fun
I live in Jackson MI. There is a road called South jackson Road. It's off of 127. It has tons of twisties and long straight aways for wheelies, perfect in my opinion. And it leads you right to the huge harley dealership. Which also sells rockets. So if you get out this way try that one out. Ill be on it this weekend.
