Anyone heard any updates on the michigan helmet law??
Re: Anyone heard any updates on the michigan helmet law??
There are many things, that you can point to, that humans, are not smart. But my personal favorite would have to be, that we had to invent the helmet. What was happening, apparently, is that we were involved in a lot of activities that were cracking our heads.
We chose not to avoid these activities but instead come up with some sort of device to help us to continue to enjoy, our headcracking lifestyle.
The helmet.
Even that didn't work, because enough people weren't wearing them, so we had to come up with the helmet law, which is even stupider because the idea behind the helmet law is to preserve a brain, who's judgement is so poor, that it doesn't even try to prevent the cracking of the head it's in!"

Anyway, its nice to take a slow cruise through town and not have one on. You can see a hell of a lot more and your damn head doesn't sweat so much, feels pretty damn nice. Yeah, you increase your risk of a head injury and thats why you ride even more careful and you take more precautions. If you ask me, the people that ride without gloves, in a T-shirt, shorts and sandals are a hell of a lot dumber than someone going without a lid. Seen it done in Ohio and Michigan.

Its STUPID to NOT wear a helmet. I would rather have massive road rash on my body than to have my brains all over the road. I have gone down twice, and thank GOD I am smart enough to have had a helmet on, or I wouldnt be here today. Nobody wants to see another fellow rider die for a cool breeze through their hair. Just think about the other people that dont pay attention on the road, or drunk drivers, or just plain idiots.

Trust me...helmets are not a cure all save all....all the gear in the world and you can still die in the crash......it should be riders choice....don't give me a fawking ticket for not taking good enough care of myself...its my body.......leave it out of the courts.

Good point so they shouldn't tell you how to take of yourself. That I assume applies to every stiuation including finances. Well, Judgyboy it cost more to clean up a mess that potentially is prevented by wearing a helmet and the proper gear...so using your logic the Govt. has a right to take care of itself due to its financial obligations to its citizens...So helmet laws should remain, for two reasons saves the govt. money and when you go to work they get some more money for taxes.

Frosted flakes are greaaaaaaaaaaatttttttttttt. **** helmets it only contains your brains from spreading out on the pavement. Your going to die on the intial impact when your neck snaps anyway. Riders choice, lol the government doesnt give a **** about you Flip or about taking care of its financial obligations. If they did none of us would be here fighting a bullshit war for the durka durkas. You know how much a soldiers death costs?? 125,000-250,000 dollars if killed during duty. Funny thing for that amount they still send us with crappy equipment lol. But thats life i guess. Give the rider a choice and just call a private ambulance for the accident then they can charge you. Michigan is to much of an **** state anyway.

Re: Anyone heard any updates on the michigan helmet law??
Well I've been riding on and off for 35 yr's motorcross to geezerglide lol, I've been in a few recks and my helmet/skid lid came off cause I wear it loose, and My head has smacked the ground a few times. Well any way my point is That it's really not about safty or not There are cases in which helmets have saved lives and others that have taken lives, WHAT the issue is ( IS FREEDOM ) to be able to have the choice weather to wear one or not. On 45 mph on down I would like the FREEDOM to choose to NOT wear one and on speeds 45 to 70 I think I'd still wear a lid. I think personally that we should be able to sign a waiver with the insurance companys releasing them of responsibilty to pay for any injurys substained by a motorcycle accident in which a helmet was not worn. Which from what I hear is one of the biggest reasons we still have that law. Thanks for reading :-)
