Where do you get your bike repaired/serviced?

I have a 05 r1. I need my first service done on my bike and I'm being quoted 150-255. Although a large spread, doesn't seem out of whack, but just wondering what you all thought. I'm coming up on 900 miles, so the time is right. Any help would be appreciated. Oh, and I prefer a yamaha shop. I think thats the only way for me to keep my warranty. Thanks

when you get a chance, look in your owner's manual for the maintence intervals. There should be a chart that says what service is suggested at a given mileage. Let me know what it says, and I'll get ya covered.

Fuel injection -- check and adjust engine idle speed and synchronization
Clutch -- Check operation
Rear brake -- Check operation, fluid level, and for leakage
Steering bearings -- Check for looseness
Drive chain -- Check slack and alignment, adjust and lubricate
Sidestand Switch -- Check operation and replace if necessary
Change engine oil and filter
EXUP system -- Check operation, cable free play and pulley position
Control Cables -- Apply Yamaha chain and cable lube or engine oil thoroghly
Lights, signals, and switches -- check and adjust headlight beam

Thats it. Let me know what you can do.

Re: Where do you get your bike repaired/serviced?

I work as a mechanic at Honda/Suzuki of Warren at 13 and Ryan. Your initial service is pretty straightforward...no valve adjustment, so its not too bad. If you want records to show that it was done, you can bring it here and I will write a repair order. You'd need to get your own oil filter, I will supply the oil, and the total cost would be about $150.00. I can also do it on the side if you wish...cost will be about $30 less, but it might take me a few days longer....figure 4-5 days, as I can only work at night- usually after 10pm or so. Regardless of your preference, I'll handle ya......but no Standy special- c'mon, I just met ya.

Re: Where do you get your bike repaired/serviced?

well Honda states right in the owners manual that service doesnt need to be done by an authorized anyone... the owner is allowed to do his or her own repairs.. and warranty is still honored.
